DEMIRICOUS Seek 'Angry Young People' For 'Vagrant Idol' Video Shoot
December 4, 2005Indianapolis-based death/thrash metal band DEMIRICOUS have recruited acclaimed director Dale "Rage" Resteghini (HATEBREED, MUDVAYNE, ILL NINO, SHADOWS FALL) to helm their debut video for the track "Vagrant Idol". Co-directing will be Resteghini's protege Frankie Nasso (SWORN ENEMY, DANNY DIABLO, AUGUST BURNS RED). According to Dale, "The premise of the video is to help show that a large majority of today's youth are disgusted with the over-spending, the gluttony, the money-grubbing attitude indicative of the recent Wall Street scandals such as Enron and WorldCom. The band seeks about 30 to 50 angry young people to help them demolish a new-styled Mercedes with baseball bats, chains and band equipment while a money-grubbing Wall Street exec and his fur- and confict diamond-wearing wife are still inside. So if you are 18 years or older, will be in the New York City area on or about the last week of December, have a few hours to kill and want to release any of your rage by crushing and smashing a common toy that represents the 'have's and the have not's', please e-mail [email protected]."
As previously reported, two songs from DEMIRICOUS's upcoming Metal Blade Records debut, "One (Hellbound)" — "Vagrant Idol" and "To Serve Is To Destroy" — have been posted online at this location. The album was recorded in June 2005 at Planet Z studios with producer Zeuss (HATEBREED, SHADOWS FALL).
The band had previously stated about the upcoming CD: "We are just trying to write a solid thrash album and we hope to add something different to today's metal scene. I don't know what direction we are going in but not a whole lot of bands are going this direction. We are just playing the music that we want to hear. Plain and simple."
